There are four wildfires of note in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.


MWF-043

  • This wildfire is located 20 km southeast of Fort Fitzgerald. It is classified as out of control 59,834 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.

Owl Complex (HWF-072, HWF-083, HWF-087, HWF-092)

  • Wildfire HWF-072 is located 14 km southwest of the South Tall Cree First Nation boundary. It is classified as out of control at 30,123 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-083 is located 34 southeast of the South Tall Cree boundary. It is classified as out of control  at 13,700 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-087 is located 3 km south of Harper Creek. it is classified as out of control at 12,508 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-092 is currently classified as being held at 2 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.

  • Wildfires HWF-058, PWF-067 and PWF-079 are part of the Basset Complex and are being managed together.
  • Wildfire HWF-058 is located 13 km northwest of Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement. It is classified as out of control at 38,936 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-067 is located 18 km from the intersection of the Keg River Highway and Highway 35 and 695 intersection. It is classified as out of control at 5,248 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-079 is classified as under control at 3 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this complex.

Kimiwan Complex (PWF-038, SWF-068)

  • Wildfires PWF-038 and SWF-068 are part of the Kimiwan Complex and are being managed together.
  • Wildfire SWF-068 is located northwest of Peavine Metis Settlement. It is classified as out of control at approximately 143,039 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-038 is located near Three Creeks and Simon Lake. It is classified as under control at approximately 6,534 hectares.

  • Wildfire HWF-087 is located 3 km south of Harper Creek. it is classified as out of control at 12,508 hectares.

  • Wildfire HWF-083 is located 34 southeast of the South Tall Cree boundary. It is classified as out of control  at 9,192 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-087 is located 3 km south of Harper Creek. it is classified as out of control at 8,566 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-092 is currently classified as being held at 2 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.

  • This wildfire is located two 55 km northwest of Dixonville. It is classified as out of control at 185 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.

There are five wildfires of note in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.


Basset Complex (HWF-058, PWF-067, PWF-079)

  • Wildfires HWF-058, PWF-067 and PWF-079 are part of the Basset Complex and are being managed together.
  • Wildfire HWF-058 is located 13 km northwest of Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement. It is classified as out of control at 36,836 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-067 is located 18 km from the intersection of the Keg River Highway and Highway 35 and 695 intersection. It is classified as out of control at 4,351 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-079 is classified as under control at 3.3 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this complex.

Kimiwan Complex (PWF-038, SWF-068)

  • Wildfires PWF-038 and SWF-068 are part of the Kimiwan Complex and are being managed together.
  • Wildfire SWF-068 is located northwest of Peavine Metis Settlement. It is classified as out of control at approximately 138,113 hectares.
  • Wildfire PWF-038 is located near Three Creeks and Simon Lake. It is classified as under control at approximately 6,534 hectares. 
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this complex.

GWF-038

  • This wildfire is located 10 km west of Deadwood Lake. It is classified as out of control at 7,148 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.

  • Wildfire HWF-072 is located 14 km southwest of the South Tall Cree First Nation boundary. It is classified as out of control at 21,716 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-083 is located 34 southeast of the South Tall Cree boundary. It is classified as out of control  at 7,519 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-087 is located 3 km south of Harper Creek. it is classified as out of control at 6,122 hectares.
  • Wildfire HWF-092 is currently classified as being held at 2 hectares.
  • There are firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment working on this wildfire.
