Wildfire Update - September 28, 2020
The wildfire danger rating for the Whitecourt Forest Area is High.
Two wildfire crews are currently working on wildfire WWF033. Crews are being effective and expect to have the fire under control by Tuesday September 29, 2020.
The wildfire is 0.5ha in size and is located at 54 07.518 N x 116 40.417 W.
Since March 1, there have been 33 wildfires in the Whitecourt Forest Area, burning a total of 3.13 hectares.

While out hunting and recreating, please remember to use caution in the forest. During the fall, dry grass and branches can stick to parts on an OHV. Take the time to prevent wildfires by checking these hotspots frequently.

Fire Permits are still required until October 31st, 2020.
Before you burn it get a permit. Call 780-778-7166 to get your free permit. Permits are not required for cooking and warming fires.
