Wildfire Update - September 22, 2020
The wildfire danger rating for the Whitecourt Forest Area is High.
Since March 1, there have been 32 wildfires in the Whitecourt Forest Area, burning a total of 2.63 hectares. All of these wildfires have been extinguished.

While out hunting and recreating, please remember to use caution in the forest. During the fall, dry grass and branches can stick to parts on an OHV. Take the time to prevent wildfires by checking these hotspots frequently.
If you choose to drive an off-highway vehicle in Alberta’s forested areas please remember:
Fire Permits are still required until October 31st, 2020.
Before you burn it get a permit. Call 780-778-7166 to get your free permit. Permits are not required for cooking and warming fires.
