WWF095 was detected July 22nd, 2021 and is located approximately 58 kilometers south west of Fox Creek. The wildfire is under control burning 0.10 hectares at this time. There is one wildfire crew and one helicopter allocated the fire. The cause of the wildfire is lightning.
WWF096 was detected July 22nd, 2021 and is located approximately 25 kilometers south east of Fox Creek. The wildfire is under control burning 0.10 hectares. There is one wildfire personnel monitoring the fire.
WILDFIRES OF NOTE
WWF097 was detected July 22nd, 2021 and is located approximately approximately 40 kilometers south west of Fox Creek. The wildfire did change from being under control to now being held. The wildfire is burning 0.20 hectares. There is one wildfire crew and one air tanker allocated to the fire.
WWF098 was detected July 23rd, 2021 and is located approximately 36 kilometers south west of fox Creek. The wildfire is being held burning 0.05 hectares. There is one wildfire crew and one helicopter allocated to the fire. This wildfire was caused by lightning.
*There are no threats to any communities at this time.*
PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE UPDATE
Since March 1, 2021, there have been 95 wildfires in the Whitecourt Forest Area, burning approximately 48.05 hectares. There were three previously reported wildfires that began before March 1, 2021, burning a total of 0.23 hectares. Two wildfires are being held, three wildfires are under control, and 93 wildfires have been extinguished.
Since March 1, 2021, there have been 925 wildfires recorded in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta, burning a total of 47,820 hectares.

SMOKE RELATED HEALTH CONCERNS
Wildfire smoke drifting from other provinces will be affecting residents in our forest area. The smoke over our area is not produced by any current wildfires in Whitecourt. The service can produce forecasts of hourly ground-level concentrations of smoke from wildfires up to 48 hours in advance.
