Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area
There was one new wildfire started in the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area today, the fire is located close to the Saulteaux River. It is a small ground fire located by an aircraft patrol in an area that has been previously burned. It was quickly actioned by the initial attack crew and helicopters were used to bucket water on the small fire. All other wildfires in the area are under control.
Even with the cooler temperatures and rain expected in the southern portion of the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area, the northern portion is still extremely dry, therefore the VERY HIGH hazard is still in place.
