The wildfire danger in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area is MODERATE. 

Report smoke or fire in the forest by calling 310-FIRE (3473). 


ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE FOREST AREA UPDATE

Since January 1, 2023, there have been 70 wildfires in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area, burning a total of approximately 120,930 hectares (ha). 


SAFE CAMPFIRES

Never leave your campfire unattended and ensure it is properly extinguished when you are done with it. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until the ashes are cool to the touch. If you are planning on camping this long weekend, remember to put out your campfire when you are done.

2022 OHV Can cause wildfires Dirt Bike

If you are using an off-highway vehicle this weekend, remember to stop often and check hot spots. Places like the engine, exhaust and muffler can build up debris. This debris can heat up on your machine, smoulder and ignite an inadvertent wildfire. Be sure to stop often and check hot spots. 


PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE UPDATE 

Since January 1,2023, in the Forest Protection Area, there have been 936 wildfires burning a total of approximately 1,942,316 ha.
