JUNIOR FOREST RANGERS

The Lac La Biche Junior Forest Rangers have had a busy season so far! One of the Lac La Biche helitack wildfire crews led a mock fire demonstration to give an idea of what wildfire suppression would look like during a wildfire event.

The JFR crew was able to start a pump and run water to extinguish the controlled mock fire. Helitack crew members worked alongside the JFR crew members to teach them step-by-step wildfire suppression operations. Some JFR's may choose to follow the path of being a wildland firefighter and this exposure will get the members familiar with wildfire operations for future employment.

To follow along with the Lac La Biche Junior Forest Rangers you can watch the crew video blogs here.
