SAFETY AROUND AIRCRAFT

A reminder that water from lakes may be used to fight wildfires. If you see aircraft approaching the lake you’re on, move close to shore so they can safely perform their activities.
These aircraft will likely arrive unannounced. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

There will be a tanker exercise on Lac La Biche Lake today between noon and 1 p.m. in front of the Legion on Churchill Drive (fire hazard permitting). We ask that when you see airtankers approaching to move your boat to shore and to keep children out of the water if you're along the shoreline after the parade today.

FIRE PERMITS

From March 1 to October 31, fire permits are required for any burning, except campfires, in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.

Fire permits help us track what is burning on the landscape. If you are burning without a permit or not following permit conditions, your fire could be considered a wildfire and you could be fined and may be responsible for the costs of suppressing the fire.

Fire permits are free and are now available online. Visit firepermits.alberta.ca for information on how to make a request online.

Fire permits are also still available, by request, from the Lac La Biche Forestry Office:

9505 Beaverhill Road, Alberta, Canada, T0A 2C0

Box 450
