The wildfire danger for the Grande Prairie Forest Area remains VERY HIGH.

Wildfire Situation

At this time, there is one active wildfire in the Grande Prairie Forest Area. GWF 091 located in the Teddy Lane area east of Hwy 40 is listed as Being Held (BH) at 1.0 hectare. Heavy equipment; multiple aircrafts and firefighters are working to contain this fire. No infrastructure is being threaten at this time.

Do your part to prevent wildfire, never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished. Always carry firefighting equipment (water and shovel) when traveling in the forest Protection Area. FIRE PERMITS

From March 1st until October 31st, fire permits are required for any burning except campfires in the Forest Protection Area (FPA). If you live within the FPA, please contact your local forestry office. Anyone living out

side the FPA can contact their municipality for information about local fire permit requirements.
