During warm weather months the risk of wildfire is high. Do not ride an off-highway vehicle in areas that have lots of grass and dry vegetation. Fire direction, intensity, and speed can change in an instant. Always be mindful of the weather and fire danger conditions when in the forest. If  you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.

Fire Permits

During wildfire season, you are required to have a fire permit if you plan on burning in the Forest Protection Area (FPA), with the exception of a campfire. To request your fire permit, contact the local forest area. Do not burn during windy conditions. Anyone living outside the FPA can contact their municipality for information about local fire permit requirements.
