Edson Area Update

Edson Forest Area Wildfire Update - May 17, 2018

Posted on Thu, May 17, 2018

GFX-HSB-WildfireDangerUpdate-Low.jpgRain and cooler temperatures mean the wildfire danger has dropped to LOW/MODERATE across the Edson Forest Area: MODERATE in Hinton and surrounding areas and LOW elsewhere.

However, sunshine and warm temperatures are expected to return Friday and throughout the long weekend. As drier conditions return, the wildfire danger will start to climb again.

Continue to use caution and never leave your campfire unattended. If you spot a wildfire call 310-FIRE.

OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES CAN START WILDFIRES

Be careful if operating quads and bikes in grassy areas. Grass, twigs, leaves and mud can build up in the hotspots, heat up, drop off and start a wildfire. Remember to clean your machine before, during and after your ride.
