Wildfire Update
There are no fires in the EFA. The wildfire hazard is LOW in the Edson Forest Area (EFA).
Before you burn it, get a permit
Wildfire season began on March 1. Fire permits are now required for any burning within the Forest Protection Area (excluding campfires). To obtain a permit, visit firepermits.alberta.ca, or call toll free 310-0000.
By getting a fire permit you help keep our firefighters free to fight wildfires instead of responding to the smoke from your brush pile or burn barrel.
Continue to check your winter burn piles to ensure they are extinguished. A fire left smoldering can continue to burn under the snow and emerge as a wildfire in the spirng when conditions are warm and dry.
