Today marks the end of wildfire season in the Forest Protection Area. The wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area is still moderate. While wildfire season may be coming to a close, there is still a risk for wildfires in the Calgary Forest Area. As the days are getting cooler, cooking and warming fires are helping to keep Albertans warm while enjoying the outdoors. Remember to fully extinguish campfires when you are done and never leave them unattended. Until there is significant snow coverage, there is still a risk of a wildfire starting.

Permits may no longer be required for burning but using safe burning practices should be top of mind.
