CURRENT CONDITIONS IN THE CALGARY FOREST AREA
The average wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area (CFA) is now LOW. Snow was received across the CFA and more seasonal temperatures and colder nights have set in.
The fire advisory that was in effect for the CFA is now lifted, fire permits are being issued once again.
WILDFIRES IN THE CFA
There are currently two active wildfire in the CFA.
ANP-OO7 (Dormer Wildfire) is now classified as BEING HELD and is estimated at 669 hectares. Alberta Wildfire is working in conjunction with Parks Canada to control this wildfire. Between the two agencies there are 20 personnel with two helicopters. Approximately 10 cm of snow has fallen across the fire area, however this amount is insufficient to extinguish the wildfire. Crews continue to action hot spots south of the Dormer River.
CWF-167 is now classified as UNDER CONTROL at 2 hectares and was caused by lightning. Crews will patrol this wildfire to ensure no hot spots remain.

The dashboard builds on the former wildfire status map by displaying the most frequently accessed information in one convenient location.
