CURRENT CONDITIONS IN THE CALGARY FOREST AREA
The average wildfire danger in the Calgary Forest Area (CFA) remains HIGH. The beautiful fall weather has allowed forest fuels to further dry out. The wildfire danger is expected to remain elevated until we receive regular rainfall or until snow falls.
A FIRE ADVISORY remains in effect for the Calgary Forest Area. Fire permits are only being issued on a case-by-case basis.
WILDFIRES IN THE CFA
There is currently one active wildfire in the CFA.
CWF-167 is now classified as UNDER CONTROL at 2 hectares and was caused by lightning. Crews remain onsite working to extinguish this wildfire. It is expected that the area will be scanned this week to identify and extinguish any remaining hot spots.
