Calgary Forest Area Wildfire Update - October 13, 2022

ACTIVE WILDFIRE IN CFA

Crews are currently responding to and actioning an active wildfire in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The wildfire (CWF-167) is located near Kent Ridge in Kananaskis Country. It is estimated at approximately 2 hectares and is classified as out of control.  There is no immediate threat to infrastructure in the area. Albertans are asked to avoid the area as crews and helicopters are working. There are currently 8 wildland firefighters and 3 helicopters on site with additional resources en-route.

A FIRE ADVISORY remains in effect for the Calgary Forest Area. Fire permits are only being issued on a case-by-case basis.

The dashboard builds on the former wildfire status map by displaying the most frequently accessed information in one convenient location.
