The overall wildfire danger across the Calgary Forest Area (CFA) remains HIGH with some pockets of VERY HIGH to EXTREME. Although the forecast is calling for a downtrend over the weekend, conditions remain very dry in the short term.
WILDFIRES IN THE CFA
There are currently no active wildfires in the CFA.
Since January 1, the CFA has responded to 49 wildfires which have burned 12.05 hectares.
CH03 is ready to respond to any new wildfire starts in the Calgary Forest Area.
PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE SUMMARY (as of 10:00 am June 14, 2024)
- Since January 1, there have been 426 wildfires recorded in the Forest Protection Area that have burned 27,986.11 hectares (ha).
- There are currently 16 active wildfires in the Forest Protection Area. They are all under control.
- There are currently 7 carryover wildfires from the 2023 season.
