The average wildfire danger across the Calgary Forest Area (CFA) remains LOW. Many areas continue to receive periodic rain showers and cooler temperatures. This weekend and into next week the Forest Area will start to see climbing temperatures and decreased precipitation.
WILDFIRES IN THE CFA
There are currently no active wildfires in the CFA.
Since January 1, the CFA has responded to 52 wildfires which have burned 12.51 hectares.
PROVINCIAL WILDFIRE SUMMARY (as of 10:00 am July 4, 2024)
- Since January 1, there have been 593 wildfires recorded in the Forest Protection Area that have burned 38,641.62 hectares (ha).
- Since our last report on July 3 2024, there have been 11 new wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.
- There are currently 64 active wildfires in the Forest Protection Area. Of these wildfires, 10 are classified as out of control, 27 are being held and 27 are under control.
- There are currently 4 carryover wildfires from the 2023 season.

Public reporting leads to the detection of approximately 57% of the provinces wildfires. If you spot a wildfire, report it to 310-FIRE so our crews can respond quickly.
