PREPARATION FOR SUCCESSFUL WINTER BURNING
From October 31 - February 28, a fire permit is not required for burning within the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. Keep in mind, if you ignite a fire, and it causes a wildfire, you are responsible.
Report your winter burn site by calling the Whitecourt Forest Area: 780-778-7272. Reporting your winter burn site allows our firefighters to respond to actual wildfires and not a planned burn.

TREE CUTTING PERMITS
The TM66 tree cutting permit is intended for small, non-commercial personal access to timber and trees. For example, you need tree permit if you want to cut firewood, or transplant a tree.
- Purchase your permit at the nearest Forest Area office, fill out the online form, or visit a private vendor.
