The wildfire hazard for the Edson Forest Area (EFA) is LOW.

Recent lightning and high winds have caused numerous new fires. All were contained at a small size with initial attack crews. Subsequent rain and higher humidity has reduced the fire danger to low.

WILDFIRE UPDATE

Currently there is one under control wildfire burning in the Edson Forest Area.

Prevent Wildfires.jpg

If you are planning to be in the forest area this long weekend, do you part to prevent wildfires. Always make sure your campfire is completely extinguished. Soak it. Stir it. Soak it again, until it's cool to the touch.

Remember to check Alberta Fire Bans before heading out this long weekend.

Use caution and please call 310-FIRE (3473) if you see smoke in a forested area.
