WILDFIRE SITUATION - Rocky Forest Area   |   October 19, 2018   |   3:00 pm

Rocky Forest Area Situation
  • Since March 1, there have been 56 wildfires in the Rocky Forest Area that have burned a total of 2,880.63 hectares.

Provincial Situation

  • there are currently 13 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 8 are under control and 5 have been turned over to the responsible parties. 
  • Since March 1, 2018, Alberta has recorded 1,254 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area that have burned a total of 59,551.20 hectares.

Remember to check your hot spots if you're operating an OHV. Debris tends to get built up on areas including the exhaust, muffler, in wheel wells, on the engine and manifold. Help reduce the number of human-caused wildfires by stopping often and checking hot spots.
