Rocky Mountain House Forest Area update -  Trail Closures Lifted - September 15 @ 2:30 p.m.

TRAIL CLOSURE UPDATE:

Coral Creek Valley, White Rabbit Trail/Hummingbird and Crescent Falls areas are now open to public access. However, recently burned areas should be avoided. Recent wildfires are still smoldering in places. Roots of trees may be compromised and pose a risk of falling and making some trails impassible.

FIRE RESTRICTION LIFTED 

The Fire Restriction has been lifted in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area (RMHFA) as of 6:00 p.m. Wednesday September 13, 2017.  Thank you for doing your part to prevent wildfires.

Fire Permits

  • A fire permit is required for any burning in the Forest Protection Area, excluding campfires.
  • To obtain your free fire permit, please call the Rocky Forest Area permit line at (403) 845-8581.

LOCAL WILDFIRE UPDATE

RWF-062 in the Coral Creek valley is under control.
RWF-063 near Canary Mountain is under control. 
RWF-065 near Crescent Falls is now classified as under control
RWF-068 west of Burnstick Lake is now classified as under control.
