The wildfire danger in the Lac La Biche Forest Area is LOW.
With continuing rain in the forecast, we expect the wildfire danger to remain LOW for several days.
Current Situation
There are currently no active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Area.
Despite the rain, we had one new wildfire on the weekend, likely started by lightning. This fire was quickly extinguished with the help of firefighters from an industrial facility close by. Although it's late in the season, there is still quite a bit of lighting happening across the forest. We are always watchful for smoke or fire in the forest.
So far this season we've had 142 wildfires in the area.
