Current Situation
There are currently no active wildfires in the Lac La Biche Area.
We haven't had any new wildfires for a few days now. We are always watchful for smoke or fire resulting from lightning. So far this season we've had 140 wildfires in the area.
The Provincial Situation
- There are currently 24 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 9 are being held, 9 are under control and 6 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
- Since March 1, 2019, Alberta has recorded 928 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta that have burned a total of 869,247 hectares.
- Firefighters from British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec are working on wildfires in the Province.
It's lightning season. Help us get the jump on these fires early, before they have a chance to get too big. If you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.
