Wildfire Danger LOW for Lac La Biche Forest Area - July 31, 2019

The wildfire danger in the Lac La Biche Forest Area remains LOW. 

Rain, rain and more rain to come is keeping our wildfire danger at LOW for the Lac La Biche Forest Area.  There is a high chance of lightning on Friday.

Current Situation
 

There is currently 1 active wildfire in the Lac La Biche Area.  LWF136 from earlier in the season is on patrol status. 

We haven't had any new wildfires for a few days now. We are always watchful for smoke or fire resulting from lightning.  So far this season we've had 136 wildfires in the area.

The Provincial Situation

  • There are currently 25 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta.  10 are being held, 12 are under control and 3 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
  • Since March 1, 2019, Alberta has recorded 715 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta that have burned a total of 869,180 hectares.
  • Firefighters from British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and New Brunswick are working on wildfires in the Province.

It's lightning season. Help us get the jump on these fires early, before they have a chance to get too big.  If you see smoke or fire in the forest, please call 310-FIRE.
