The fire danger is High for the High Level Forest Area. Please continue to use caution in areas of dead/dry grass.

Human-caused wildfires are completely preventable. Please do your part this summer to prevent wildfires. Be safe when recreating in the forested areas or while out exploring with an off-highway vehicle. Remember fire permits are required to burn debris within the forest protection area of Alberta and always put out your campfire. Soak it, stir it, and soak it again!

FIRE PERMITS

From March 1st until October 31st, fire permits are required for any burning, except campfires, in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. To request your free fire permit call the High Level Forest Area permit line at 780-926-5407. Leave a message with your home location, burn location, what you plan to burn and our patrolmen will get back to you.

Fire permits help us to track what is burning on the landscape. If you're burning without a fire permit or outside fire permit conditions, your fire is considered a wildfire. By getting a permit you help keep our firefighters free to fight wildfire.
