The wildfire danger in the Fort McMurray area is MODERATE and HIGH in and around Fort Chipewyan.
Recreational users in the Richardson Back-country and public lands around Fort McMurray should take extra caution with OHV use. Safe OHV and campfire use practices should be applied.
Fort McMurray Forest Area Wildfire Update
Since March 1st, there have been 47 wildfires in the Fort McMurray Forest Area burning a total of 29.02 hectares.

Agriculture and Forestry has the following resources deployed on wildfires or pre-positioned across the province ready to action new wildfires: 1,694 firefighters and support staff, 96 helicopters, 15 airtankers and 103 pieces of heavy equipment.
