Recent precipitation has lowered the wildfire danger in the Fort McMurray area to LOW, but the level remains HIGH in and around Fort Chipewyan.
Recreational users in the Richardson Back-country and public lands around Fort McMurray should take extra caution with OHV use. Safe OHV and campfire use practices should be applied.
Fort McMurray Forest Area Wildfire Update
Since March 1st, there have been 44 wildfires in the Fort McMurray Forest Area burning a total of 21.58 hectares.

Agriculture and Forestry has the following resources deployed on wildfires or pre-positioned across the province ready to action new wildfires: 1,845 firefighters and support staff, 96 helicopters, 15 airtankers and 163 pieces of heavy equipment.
