Thunderstorm activity is forecast to develop giving a risk of heavy rain and strong downdrafts. Winds will increase as the system intensifies through the day.
Fort Chipewyan - today's high 27 C, possible rain and thunder showers, winds SE25G40.
Fort McMurray - today's high 28 C, possible rain and thunder showers, winds SE30G45.
There are currently 20 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 5 are being held, 12 are under control and 3 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
Make sure it's out! A campfire left smoldering can cause a wildfire. Never leave your campfire unattended and make sure it's out. Soak it with water, stir up the ashes and soak it again. A campfire is out when the ashes are cool to the touch.
