The Fire Ban System
Alberta Agriculture and Forestry uses a five level colour-coded system for putting on fire bans in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. The system outlines permitted and prohibited activities related to conditions and the hazard level.

Edson Forest Area:
There is currently 1 wildfire (EWF007 - UC) in the EFA. Since March 1, 2018 there have been 84 wildfires in the EFA that have burned approximately 1,301.40 hectares in total.
Provincial Stats:
There are currently 19 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 10 wildfires are under control (UC), three are being held (BH) and six wildfires have been turned over to the responsible parties.
Since March 1, 2018, Alberta has recorded 927 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area that have burned a total of 46,047.01 hectares.
Agriculture and Forestry has the following resources deployed on wildfires or pre-positioned across the province ready to action new wildfires: 442 firefighters, 31 helicopters, heavy equipment and 8 airtankers.

The fire is currently Under Control, meaning the wildfire is completely contained and will be extinguished.
Crews are still working on the fire to date. The fire will be monitored for hotspots until it's classified as extinguished.
