The wildfire danger across the Calgary Forest Area (CFA) remains EXTREME. Warm and dry conditions are continuing with no expected precipitation in the forecast. Strong, gusty winds are anticipated and there is substantial dry fuel available to burn. If a wildfire ignites in these conditions, it has the potential to spread very quickly and exhibit unpredictable fire behaviour.
FIRE ADVISORY
A FIRE ADVISORY is now in effect for the Calgary Forest Area due to very dry conditions and no anticipated precipitation. Under this fire advisory:
- Existing fire permits are suspended.
- No new fire permits will be issued.
- Campfires are allowed but should be kept small, attended at all times and must be fully extinguished.
- Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited.
This FIRE ADVISORY will remain in effect until conditions improve or further escalation is required.
