A Fire Advisory remains in place for the majority of the WWMA. This means no burning.
With the exception of burn barrels, all fire permits are suspended.
Safe campfires are permitted, but may be restricted in the coming days if conditions worsen.
The Fire Restriction for areas surrounding the town of Swan Hills remains in effect.
- Safe campfires are allowed in fire rings in campgrounds only.
- No open fires are allowed in backcountry or random camping areas.
- Burning permits may be suspended or cancelled and no new permits will be issued.
If you are working or living in the RED areas below, you will continue to be impacted by this restriction.

Currently, there are no wildfires in the WWMA.
In the last 24 hours, 1 new wildfire was extinguished in the WWMA. It burned a total of 0.15 hectares.
Since April 1, 2015, there have been 26 wildfires in the WWMA which have burned 26.05 hectares.
There are 29 wildfires burning in Alberta: 2 are out of control, 3 are being held, 22 are under control, and 2 have been turned over to the responsible party.
Since April 1, 2015, Alberta has recorded 617 wildfires that have burned a total of 6675.60 hectares.
