The wildfire hazard is extreme in the Whitecourt Wildfire Management Area (WWMA) as high temperatures and low humidity levels continue.
The fire advisory for the area continues. Safe campfires are allowed, however fire permits are suspended. Visit www.albertafirebans.ca for the latest fire ban information across the province.
Local wildfires
There are three wildfires in the area. Firefighters have each of these wildfires under control. Here's a look at the wildfire 11 kilometres south of Swan Hills. Firefighters have extinguished hot areas around the edges of this wildfire.
Windy conditions continue
Winds are forecast at 15-20 kilometres an hour, gusting to 40 kilometres an hour. In these conditions wildfires can start easily and spread quickly. Our firefighters need your help to get to wildfires while they are small. Please report wildfires by calling 310-FIRE.
