Wildfire Hazard

The wildfire hazard for Wednesday is MODERATE for the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area.

Weather

For Wednesday the forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid teens, a chance of isolated thundershowers and winds from the southwest 20 kilometers per hour.

For Thursday and Friday warmer temperatures and strong gusty winds are expected.

With warm temperatures and strong winds in the forecast we are expecting the wildfire hazard to climb. Be sure to follow the conditions on your fire permit and use extreme caution while working or recreating in the forest. A wildfire will ignite easily and spread very quickly under windy conditions. Report wildfires immediately by calling 310-FIRE (3743)

Fire permits help us track what is burning on the landscape. By getting a fire permit and following the fire permit conditions you help keep our firefighters free to fight existing wildfires and any new wildfires that may start.

Thanks for doing your part to prevent wildfires!
