Wildfire Hazard

The wildfire hazard for the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area will be MODERATE over the weekend.

Weather Forecast

The forecast is calling for warm temperatures and light winds.

There have been no new wildfires since May 2.

Since April 1, the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area has recorded 37 wildfires which have burned 307.74 hectares. All 37 have been extinguished.

Fire Permits

All fire permit holders are reminded to check the weather and your permit conditions. If you cannot meet the conditions on your permit, do not ignite new burns and extinguish those already burning.

From March 1 to October 31, Albertans in the forested areas need to get a FIRE PERMIT for any burning, excluding campfires. To request your free fire permit call your local Environment and Sustainable Resource Development Office.
