The rain we received has been scattered. The wildfire hazard is MODERATE for areas west and south of Lesser Slave Lake. At this time areas to the north (Wabasca, Red Earth, Trout, Peerless, Chipewyan Lakes) have not received rain and the hazard remains HIGH. Areas of dead dry grass are extremely flammable and under windy conditions a grass fire will spread very quickly. Residents and visitors are urged to be extra cautious with any burning at this time.

The forecast is calling for strong winds, cooler temperatures and rain overnight and into Saturday.
