McMillan Wildfire Complex

Today the south end of the fire received a small amount of rain. Crews, heavy equipment, bucketing helicopters and airtankers were able to knock down open flame and build fire guard around the southeast side of the fire which has active for the past few days.

Firefighters continue to support heavy equipment along the south side of the fire to reinforce their dozer lines with the help of airtanker support.

Good progress is being made on the east side and west side of the fire as crews continue to lay hose to the north.

An active area of the fire near Sawle lake received aggressive suppression efforts, greatly reducing fire behavior.

In the northwest area of the fire, crews are cutting helipads to improve access to these portions of the fire. Firefighters are also focused on the very northwest point of the fire and began laying hose along this area.

Airtankers continued to support the northeast flank of the fire today immediately west of SWF-079 to reduce fire behavior along the fire perimeter. Following this crews were sent in to lay hose and establish control lines.

Firefighters and airtankers continue to fight SWF-079.

Aggressive air attack on SWF-090 greatly reduced its fire behavior today.

Great progress continues to be made on SWF- 078 and SWF-099 as both of these fires are under control.

Structure protection remains in place in Trout Lake, Wabasca, Bigstone Cree First Nation and Marten Beach.
