Two new wildfires - quickly actioned by firefighters

Slave Lake Wildfire Update

This wildfire is now considered to be under control, thank you to the quick work of the municipality and firefighters.  New wildfire located near Loon Lake in the Red Earth area, it was identified by the look out tower and wildfire employees.   Local Municipality, firefighters,and helicopters are working to put this wildfire out. They were able to action it quickly and managed to quickly reduce any potential impacts and kept the wildfire small at around 0.5 ha in size.

A second wildfire started in the Slave Lake Wildfire Management Area today, it is very small around 0.02ha in size and is located along a road in the northern part of our area, approximately 20 km north of Trout Mountain.  This wildfire is classified as out of control and there are two helicopters and firefighters working on extinguishing this wildfire

The remaining wildfires in the Slave Lake Management Area are considered to be under control.
