Lac La Biche Area Update - LWF -099, east of Rock Island Lake, is out of control at just under 7400 hectares. Due to agressive fire behaviour driven by the west wind, firefighters were not able to work on the wildfire yesterday, but it was safe for three helicopters to work on limiting the growth on the east-side.  Last night, five pieces of heavy equipment continued to work on the east side of the wildfire to build fire guard.  Smoke may drift onto highway 813 and at times traffic may be controlled. Click here for the most up to date road conditions.
