Wildfire Update - Smoke in the air

The wildfire hazard in the Rocky Wildfire Management Area is moderate.

Provincial Situation:
In the last 24 hours there have been four new wildfires.
Alberta currently has 93 wildfires. 37 are out of control, 22 are being held, and 34 are under control. Two wildfires have been extinguished within the last 24 hours.
Since April 1, 2015, Alberta has recorded 1,289 wildfires that have burned a total of 378,498.83 hectares

Smoke in the air

Winds from the northwest are causing smoke from these wildfires plus wildfires in northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories to drift south into the Rocky Wildfire Management Area. Anyone with health concerns should check the Alberta Health Services website or call 811 for 24/7.
