WILDFIRE DANGER

The wildfire danger is LOW across the Rocky Forest Area


WILDFIRE SITUATION  |  July 25, 2018 

Rocky Forest Area

  • There is currently no wildfires burning in the Rocky Forest Area.
  • Since March 1, 2018 there have been 43 fires in the Rocky Forest Area that have burned a total of 8.42 hectares.

Provincial Situation

  • There are currently 12 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 3 are being held, 5 are under control, and 4 have been turned over to the responsible parties.
  • Since March 1, 2018, Alberta has recorded 960 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area that have burned a total of 45,501.86 hectares. 

HELP PREVENT WILDFIRES
  • Remember to clean your off-highway vehicle before, during and after your ride. Stop frequently and take the time to knock off debris from your machine's hot spots. If the debris is smouldering, soak it, stir it, and soak it again to make sure it's out.
