Due to dry conditions the Fire Advisory remains in effect for the Rocky Wildfire Management Area. Fire Permits will only be issued for burn barrels and small hand-piled brush piles. Fire Permits for heavier fuels such as machine piled brush piles, windrows and root piles will not be issued until the advisory is lifted. Safe campfires are currently allowed.

Wildfire Summary
Since April 1, 2015, Alberta has recorded 272 wildfires which have burned 583.5 hectares. Alberta currently has 13 wildfires. Five are under control and eight have been turned over to the responsible party.
Since April 1, 2015 Rocky WMA has recorded 32 wildfires which have burned 35 hectares. Two are currently under control and 30 have been extinguished.
The Hummingbird prescribed operations on April 28th resulted in 35 hectares burned. Operations will recommence with favourable weather conditions.The area is currently open for public use.
