LOCAL WILDFIRE UPDATE
Rocky Wildfire 68 is located approximately 8.3 km west of the Burnstick Lake and is not threatening to nearby residents and campers. It is currently out of control at 93 hectares in size. Firefighters and heavy equipment worked overnight on building fire guard around this wildfire. Approximately 50% of the perimeter around this wildfire is in good shape. 16 firefighters with an additional 12 enroute, an airtanker, one helicopter bucketing and heavy equipment continue to work to contain this wildfire. There are also additional airtankers standing by to assist.
The Bighorn Wildfire Complex
RWF-062 in the Coral Creek valley is being held at approximately 653 hectares,
RWF-063 near Cancery Mountain is being held at approximately 463 hectares, and
RWF-065 near Crescent Falls is being held at approximately 67 hectares.
There are a total of 84 firefighters and support staff, 7 helicopters and 1 piece of heavy equipment currently fighting these wildfires.
Revised Trail closure information:
Coral Creek valley, White Rabbit Trail/Hummingbird, and the area adjacent to Crescent Falls remain closed to the public to provide locations for firefighting operations.
