The wildfire danger in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area is now HIGH. Use caution in the forested areas if you are doing any burning or having a campfire.
PRESCRIBED FIRE
Effective June 2-7, the Chungo Gap area (as shown in blue on the map above) will be closed to the public for prescribed fire operations. The area is expected to be open for the public again on June 8 depending on weather and fire conditions. Thank you for your co-operation.

WILDFIRE SITUATION UPDATE
There is currently one wildfire in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area. This wildfire is under control. Since March 1, there have been 41 wildfires in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area, burning a total of 70.74 hectares.
PROVINCIAL UPDATE
There are currently 16 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area (FPA) of Alberta. 10 of these wildfires are under control and six have been turned over to the responsible party.
Since March 1 there have been 452 wildfires in the FPA, burning a total of 1039.37 ha.
