The Hummingbird prescribed fire is planned to begin Thursday, April 23. The area will be closed to the public for the duration of the prescribed fire. The wet weather forecast for the weekend however means conditions may not be right for burning after Thursday and the area may reopen.
Hazard reduction burning, pending weather conditions, may be be carried out in the Medicine Lake, Jackfish Lake, Saunders, Batus Creek, Wildhorse Creek, Brazeau Dam as well as along highway 752 west of Cow Lake and along 734 south of Nordegg.
The fire advisory in the Rocky Wildfire Management Area (RWMA) remains in effect.
