Ignition operations on the Blackstone prescribed fire are completed until further favorable conditions. Operations will recommence when conditions are favorable. Approximately 600 hectares were burned on Tuesday May 23.
The objective is to improve ungulate habitat by reducing shrub encroachment and reinvigorating grass growth. We will proceed when and where we can ensure a safe operation that will meet the overall objectives of the prescribed fire.
The area is now open to the public but will be closed when operations recommence.
