The wildfire hazard has increased to HIGH in areas with no snow cover within the Lac La Biche Wildfire Management Area. As snow melts this weekend, the hazard will continue to climb in all areas.A wind advisory is in place for the weekend. Increasing winds on Friday are expected to reach gusting speeds of up to 80km/hr on Saturday afternoon. High winds can cause extreme fire behavior and allow wildfires to grow rapidly. Residents and visitors to the area are urged to be extra cautious with any burning. Please check your fire permits and adhere to conditions on the back of the permit. No burning when winds exceed 15 km/hr.
