Wildfire Danger MODERATE - Lac La Biche Forest Area - July 30, 2018

The wildfire danger has climbed to MODERATE for the Lac La Biche Forest Area today. 

Temperatures in the Lac La Biche Forest Area will be around 26 degrees today with Northeast winds at 15km. Some pockets of rain are possible later in the afternoon and into the evening. There is an increased risk of lightning today.


Lac La Biche Forest Area Update:

  • There were four new wildfires yesterday. One is under control at 0.01 hectares and three have been extinguished.
  • Since March 1, 2018, there have been 187 wildfires that have burnt a total of 16,336.41 hectares.

Provincial Update:

  • There have been 15 wildfires recorded in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta since 10:00am yesterday. One of these wildfires is out of control, four are being held, two are under control and eight have been extinguished. 
  • Since March 1, 2018, Alberta has recorded 1007 wildfires in the Forest Protection Area burning a total of 49,834.43 hectares.
