Lac La Biche Forest Area Update:

  • There were no new wildfires today.
  • Since March 1, 2018, there have been 189 wildfires that have burnt a total of 16,336.44 hectares.
  • We have 9 crews, 6 helicopters, the airtankers, and one dozer group on hand to fight wildfires tomorrow.

Take care in the forest this weekend.  Please remember to fully extinguish your campfire by soaking it, stirring it, then soaking it again. The ashes should be cool to the touch when the fire is completely out.

If you are planning to use an off-highway vehicle, stop often and remove debris from your machine. Grass and muskeg can get caught, heat up and start a wildfire.

Farmers - remember to check your haying equipment and bearings!

Many areas of Alberta have fire restrictions in place due to wildfire danger.  Please check albertafirebans.ca to see if you can have a campfire.
