NOTE: Due to a server issue, the status map on the Alberta Wildfire App is not updating. Please use the wildfire status map on the Alberta Wildfire webpage for current locations. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to resolve the issue.

The wildfire danger remains LOW for tomorrow in the Lac La Biche Forest Area.

We're experiencing some technical difficulties with our Wildfire app. Please note it has not updated wildfire information since July 31, 2018. For the most up-to-date information please check back here for the current wildfire situation.

Lac La Biche Forest Area Update:

  • There were no new wildfires today.
  • Since March 1, 2018, there have been 189 wildfires that have burnt a total of 16,336.44 hectares.

If you are out enjoying the forested areas this long weekend remember to fully extinguish your campfire by soaking it, stirring it, then soaking it again. The ashes should be cool to the touch when the fire is completely out.

If you are planning to use an off-highway vehicle, stop often and remove debris from your machine. Grass and muskeg can get caught, heat up and start a wildfire.

We can all do our part to prevent wildfires this long weekend!
